Creating bootable XP pro cd

#1 Post by Stingray72 » Sun Jul 11, 2004 11:26 am

I have a T41 and managed to copy the i386, support and valueadd folders from the HD to a bootable cd. Before tryin it out i would like to ask.. Will it install SP1a as well or do i need to slip stream it as mentioned in other posts?? and will the product key in the unattend.txt in i386 folder actually work?? did anyone try that?? I would prefer to do a clean installation and install everything from scratch.

Thanks..

i don't remember where i read it (try http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/#build) but you also need in that cd a file named like "winsp1.ip" in order to tell windows' setup to use your cd for SP1.

I'd also recommend using Bart PEBuilder as above.

Best way for SP1 is using an XP install CD including SP1 but I haven't tried installing SP1 separately.

Cheers,

Greg
