Dock II

#1 Post by leegaard » Sat Dec 17, 2005 8:13 pm

I have the opportunity to buy a Dock II cheap.

It is without power supply. Is it possible to use another 120 W PSU from other series of Thinkpads?

Power supply is internal, just make sure you get the power cord that comes with it. ;)

Power mains cable for Dock II

#4 Post by mrpaulin » Thu Dec 22, 2005 12:10 am

My Dock II (2877-10U) takes a "Mickey Mouse" power mains cable.
Note that this is not the same mains cable that fits the AC adapter bricks for my A31p and T41.

You need to make sure that whoever is selling you the Dock II is providing the power cord. Period. End quote. If it's a Dock II without any cord, then you're not getting the whole thing.

I don't know how easy or hard it would be to replace the cord. Check Lenovo's site.

The neat video tells me that its a mickey mouse.

Danish power cords are very special and seldom which will prohibit me from looking in the whole europe for a bargain ...

I've seen power brick cords with the three-prong connector ("Mickey Mouse"), and I think this one's a wee bit different. Not 100% sure, but the cord itself and the connector seem a bit bigger.

I must frankly admit that I am not much into Apple stuff.

The mickey mouse cord is also used for HP laptops here in DK.

The HP is quite interchangeable with an IBM power, so my guess is that its quite the same .. also the Apple cord ..
