Access Connections - will not connect

#1 Post by goldbergs » Wed Dec 21, 2005 8:52 am

Windows XP Pro
Access connection 3.8

IBM Access connections used to work fine. I could roam to wireless hotspots etc and connect without problems. I Updated to 3.8 Lenovo software and things changed. (I hear there is a 4.0 release but I cannot find it on their site)

I seem to be able to connect a few places, including home where I have a Linksys wireless 802.11g using WEP but I cannot connect in most locations. It will not associate with the network, even simple t-Mobile hotspots which do nor use encryption.

I am quite knowledgeable and have checked all settings. The temporary solution has been to disable all access connection processes and connect using standard Windows XP software. This works! However I lose the advantages of accecss connections such as settings for Proxy servers, printers etc between locations.

Any ideas? - Thanks in advance...

I think it is 4.01 and not 4.1.

Is it just my imagination, or do I boot faster with 4.01 than I did with 4.0?
