Howdy all!
Just joined the thinkpad community with my first thinkpad(T42p) and this is my first post.
I got sick of all my work notebooks dying on me and decided to get a T42P on my own and did so about 3 weeks ago off of ebay. It was sealed and still has a warranty till 06/08.
I love this notebook in every aspect, but I have had random pixels(3 different pixels confirmed) on my monitor go out on me after a couple hours being on. However after reboot, they come back on and there are no dead pixels. I called IBM and they said this is an issue with the LCD, not the hardware(video card, etc) and that they would not do any work on it until at least 8 were dead.
This is very frustrating in the sense that this is a 3k machine with a 128mb video card, plus it is new. Any reccommendations on what the problem really is and how I can go about getting it corrected?
Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!
Regards,
Yo Han
