Wireless Staus Problem (T42)

#1 Post by Leon » Mon Jul 12, 2004 10:07 am

When I double click on my 11/a/b/g Wireless Lan PCI Mini Adapter icon in the system tray (the one that shows signal strength), I get the standard "Wireless Connection Status" box. But when I click on the button "Modify WLAN Settings", I get an hourglass for about 3 seconds, then nothing comes up. Any ideas?

yeah. but i can't get to the place where you can set "let Microsoft manage wireless connections" at all.... if i go to control panel>wireless network connections, right click on my wireless connection and select show available wireless connections, everything is grayed out....

Can you click on properties? Is it working?

yes, but nowhere in properties (that I can find), gives the option (check box), for "Let Microsoft Manage Wireless Connections"... does yours behave the same?

Mine is working. Here is how I get to "Use Windows To Configure My Wireless Network Settings".

1. Right-click the My Network Places icon on your Windows desktop.
2. Choose the Properties option.
3. Right-click the network connection for the wireless network adapter.
4. Choose the Properties option.
5. Click the Wireless Networks tab.

Try to turn off AC, and see if you can get there.

with or without AC, I don't have a "Wireless Properties" Tab... only General and Advanced... does your "Modify WAN Settings" button on the Wireless Connections Status box work too?..

others with T42's and wireless comments?

well...partial answer... my Wireless Zero Configuration service was stopped... if I start it, i get the tab back... BUT STILL, the "Modify WAN Settings" button on the Wireless Connections Status box doesn't do anything when pushed.... do others work?...where does it bring you?
