Calling all 15" T42 owners -- report your CPU temps!!

So I recently upgraded the 1.7 in my T42 to a 2.0. Since then, it seems to be running pretty warm. I know obviously if you increase the clock, you are going to have more heat. But before the machine seemed to idle under 40C usually, now its idling like 43-44C (at 600MHz of course). That seems like a pretty noticeable jump. It also quickly breaks 50C when its running @ 2GHz.

Just wondering if I could get a sampling of people's temps, also please mention if that's the factory CPU install (i.e. no aftermarket thermal grease).

I'm thinking I might need to re-do my Arctic Silver Ceramique. Thanks!

AS-5 applied. Idles at about 29-31 at 600MHz, 39-41 at 1.8Ghz.

Very interesting. Sounds indeed like I need to re-apply.

I don't use AS5 because it is just too dang sticky personally I've pulled enough CPU's out of the socket!

I removed CHC a while back for some reason or another but I remember mine stayed between 30 and 40 no matter what I was doing.

I know what you mean! I've had to do the alcohol-rub-reapply a few times because it kept attracting lint as I was trying to apply it onto the die.
