T43 with Intel Graphics: Will it drive an Apple 23" LCD

I just upgraded from a T40 with ATI graphics to a new T43 with Intel graphics. I was using the port replicator with DVI out to an Apple 23" HD monitor at 1900X1200. This worked fine on my T40 but I cannot get the new T43 to recognize the new monitor using the same port replicator.

I am using a DVI switch to 3 other machines to this large monitor so it isn't connected directly to the port replicator.

Do the Intel graphics support the ability to drive the Apple monitor or am I out of luck?

Any help with this would be appreciated

AFAIK, only the discrete graphics cards support DVI via a pr. If DVI was supported there should be an entry within the BIOS (don't remember the exact location, am sitting at my desktop right now).

Well the BIOS says that the Intel video is a discrete PCI card and not on the motherboard. When I fly over the second monitor and activate I see the horizontal resolution but the vertical reads 0. Does this sound like a software issue or hardware?

Try it without the DVI switch. When troubleshooting, go to as simple a setup as possible.

Not exactly an upgrade. As coolsilicon states, T43s with Intel GMA900 cannot output to DVI on the port replicator. You need a T43 with one of the ATI cards. This is documented quite clearly in most places, i.e. this forum or ThinkWiki.

Thanks for this. I had this same problem with my PC workstation. I will have to upgrade my video card. Thanks for the info.
