additional ram, do they install it for you?

i ordered an additional 512mb of ram for my t43. do i install that myself or does the factory do it?

also, if i ordered on Dec 27, and the estimated ship date is Jan 16, when will it PROBABLY arrive?

i've heard that there have been many problems with accurate delivery dates and stuff, is that very common or isolated?

ps, i live in the bay area, CA, if that helps

There's a little door on the bottom--the size of a business card--open it up and take a look. Basically, you just plug the memory in, push the card down so it locks under the little clips on each side, and boot up.

I ordered mine on dec 14th, the estimated shipping day was jan 10th, but they shipped it on dec 19th. However hey ship it from Hong Kong, and mine took 8 days to clear the customs (maybe it was a holidays delay) and then UPS takes some time too depending on the shiping service type you purchased it with (2nd day, ground, etc.). At the end It's been delivered on dec 29.
Your order receipt should mention if the additional memory is installed in the factory or is a "customer installed" one.

I ordered a T 43 on 13DEC2005 and it left HK on 15DEC and went through customs in Ontario, CA arriving on 16DEC and departing on 21DEC and was delivered to me in Oregon that same day, so from putting the order in on the web site to my doorstep was 8 days total. The web site indicated 2-4 weeks at time of order placement and then was updated to an estimated ship date of 03JAN2006, but obviously both of those estimates were far exceded.

I ordered a HD and Ultrabay Slim adapter on 31DEC2005, that shipped on 03JAN and as of today is in Ontario, CA in customs.

You can't hardly beat this kind of service from 1/2 way around the world, I have been very pleased.

I expect 7-10 days is the norm.
