2378fvu Bluetooth

#1 Post by spoon » Tue Jul 13, 2004 1:59 pm

Hi Everyone,
I've been reading the information about the 2378-fvu in the forum and it's not yet clear to me if if's possible to add bluetooth to it (not through USB). Can someone clarify me this point?
Another question. If I buy the 2378fvu, and take out the 40GB 5400rpm HD to put a new 60GB 7200rpm HD, do you know if it would be eassy to sell the old 40GB 5400rpm one?

Thanks a lot!

2378FVU has the BT antenna in the LCD. So you just need the MiniPCI card and a clear plate. More info:

I think you won't have any problem selling the 40GB HD. Just make sure to get the Recovery CD set from IBM first.

for free from IBM if you've had it less than 30 days, $30 thereafter, or make them from your factory install before you take out your hard drive...

spoon,

I had the same thoughts and ordered a 2378fvu last week. I then ordered the BT part (91P7319 @ $66.50) from IBM which arrived today. I also got a 60GB/72k drive off ebay for $279. The 2378fvu is really well priced - if I recall correctly the total out of pocket for this config is going to be around $2190. Much better than the cheapest SXGA T42 config with bluetooth on the ibm site.
