PATA or SATA and 7K100 or E7K100 hard drive for T43p?

Hi,
I am interested in buying an additional drive and narrowed my options
to these. I know T43 have a SATA->PATA interface, but does it
mean that both type of drives can be used or only the PATA ones?

You would need to get a PATA HDD; true, there is a PATA-SATA Brdige, but that is only for the PATA disk. After going through the bridge, it hence looks like a SATA device to the system.

And, you don't want the 'E' part. They're designed to run continuously with no power-saving features. You want to order the PATA 7K100.

That 7K100 is really driving me towards a HDD upgrade... It looks like such a nice unit.

costcentral.com lists the PATA 7K100 at $212 +TX +S/H
though they will be in stock in Feb, seems like a great price.

I just bought a 7k100 (100GB) for $209 with 2nd day shipping. It arrived yesterday. This was from ZipZoomFly (formerly googlegear).

(note: I have no affiation with zipzoomfly or hitachi, nor the guy who decided to implement the SATA-to-PATA bridge, nor the guy responsible for the 2010 error).
