PATA or SATA and 7K100 or E7K100 hard drive for T43p?
Hi,
I am interested in buying an additional drive and narrowed my options
to these. I know T43 have a SATA->PATA interface, but does it
mean that both type of drives can be used or only the PATA ones?
E7K100
HTE721010G9AT00 * 100.00 GB * Parallel-ATA * 7200 RPM
HTE721010G9SA00 * 100.00 GB * Serial-ATA * 7200 RPM
7K100
HTS721010G9AT00 * 100.00 GB * Parallel-ATA * 7200 RPM
HTS721010G9SA00 * 100.00 GB * Serial-ATA * 7200 RPM
Also, I read that E7K100 are better for servers etc. Any comparison
on power consumption of E7K100 vs 7K100?
Please help me choose. Thanks very much.

You would need to get a PATA HDD; true, there is a PATA-SATA Brdige, but that is only for the PATA disk. After going through the bridge, it hence looks like a SATA device to the system.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

thanks all for your replies. they solved my problem.
costcentral.com lists the PATA 7K100 at $212 +TX +S/H
though they will be in stock in Feb, seems like a great price.
