Hi everybody, I have a problem with my T43: when I use it with battery the LCD screen goes black for a moment, randomly every 5/6 minutes. It happens also while I'm typing something or use mouse, so I don't think that it's a standby/screensaver problem.
Any ideas? Maybe a configuration problem? I have updated everything with software installer utility.
Thanks a lot

I used to have this problem.
1) Go into the control panel, and double check your power settings (i'm sure you'd done this, but no luck
2) The other hidden thing is to click the IBM battery gauge thing, and click on Battery Maximizer Wizard, then you'll get to a point where "turn off screen" or something..lemme know if it works. DISABLE IT! Use the Control panel thing instead

Power Manager has a scheme where after x minutes of idle, it changes the refresh rate. On my T43, that "blinks" the screen (you won't notice it, I guess, if a screen saver is on), but when I type/mouse/blow on it, the refresh rate changes again ... yielding another annoying blink.
So I ... guess what ... make my own "power source optimized" scheme without any refresh rate changes. (I couldn't tell you what, if any, power saving gains changing the refresh rate on an LCD does.)

I create a new profile without refresh changes and it seems to solve the problem. Thanks a lot.davidspalding wrote:Power Manager has a scheme where after x minutes of idle, it changes the refresh rate.
