Changing brightness on T43
I bought a new Thinkpad T43. Every time I change the brightness of the screen using Fn + Home or End. After I reboot the machine, the brightness gets automatically reset to max bright. Is there any way to make the brightness to stay with my previous setting? I search through the manual and the Lenovo web site but couldn't find any information on this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forum
You can modify and/or create new power management profiles in the Power Manager; click the green battery icon and create a new power profile. There is an option to set the screen to any of 7 levels of brightness upon application of that power profile. HTH

Thanks it works
Thanks for the help. I change the power management profile and able to adjust the brightness.
Regarding to the fan noise, I read the posting. I guess I need to really digest the content before I am able to use the utility. The utility seems powerful but complicated.
