Bluetooth profile - Advanced Audio Distribution Profile A2DP
Bluetooth profile - Advanced Audio Distribution Profile A2DP
I have a T41 w/ built-in bluetooth and would like to use a a wireless audio device (http://www.tentechnology.com/products/p ... viplay.php) which uses the A2DP profile. Is this currently supported by my card and software, and if not what would I have to do to be able to use this?
Thanks.
Thanks.
If I recall correctly, the first Widcomm software to support to support A2DP profile is version 4.x. which is offered by Lenovo starting from Z-series as Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows XP/2000 - ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t. Software offered for T41 (IBM integrated bluetooth II) is version 1.4.3.4.
Questionable ways of patching the drivers exist to install the drivers for earlier Bluetooth cards (IBM integrated II, III, IV) also. But then again, I'm not sure whether or not A2DP requires newer hardware also (Bluetooth 1.2 or 2.0). IBM integrated II (which is the version in T41) is version 1.1, as far as I know.
I don't have a suitable Audio sink (headphones, speakers or other receiver) to test the issue.

I have an A2DP-compatible headset, and a T43... I've paired them up but don't know how to get audio to stream to the unit.

I think A2DP is supported from Bluetooth v1.2 onwards.
I've also been trying to get my stereo bluetooth headset to stream audio from my T43p. Wasn't successful before the update to EDR. I can pair both of them, but no sound on the headset and it disconnects by itself after a short while. I can see the bluetooth logo on the panel blinking hard tho, so it's trying to transmit, but maybe insufficient bandwidth.
After the recent upgrade to v1.2 +EDR, when I try to stream audio, I get maybe 0.5sec after few seconds of playing. Bluetooth logo also blinking hard, no auto disconnection, and my bluetooth mouse lags until not usable.
Any suggestions, or shd I try to install the latest widcomm drivers myself?
