Network card unavailable

#1 Post by chermesh » Wed Jan 25, 2006 8:57 am

Hi,
My T42 has two intel network adapters, PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection and PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection.
When I run ipconfig/all, the MT Mobile doesn't show. When I try to enable it, I get an enable failure message with no event log report.
What's wrong?
How can I identify the source of the problem? How can I solve it?

First download the driver from the page below. Then go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the software. Now double-click on the file you downloaded to extract the files to your hard drive. Follow the instuctions on the following page for installing (updating the driver). You can use Software Installer at this point to make it easier.

Locked - How can I download a huge file with no connection?

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, since the computer can connect, I can't download the file. If it were a small file, I could save it on a diskette. But the update is much too big.

You can't use a dial-up connection?

If you go to device manager do you have a red X on the adapter? If you delete the driver from there and reboot it may reinstall itself.

You can also reinstall the original drivers. They are located in one of the C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS subdirectorys. I don't have time to look just now for the exact subdirectory.
