Is it possible or is it not?

#1 Post by vliou » Thu Jan 26, 2006 6:22 pm

Ive been looming around these forums trying to figure out whether or not I can upgrade my laptops hard drive from 40GB to either an 80 or 100gb.

We use Norton Ghost 2003 and have cloned and upgraded several times before for desktop PC machines, but have never done it on a thinkpad.

Im worried about that boot up nag screen...so is this possible, or is it not?

Thanks!

Should not be a problem with a T42; I've done so with a 100GB Seagate drive. Only T43s have the BIOS that checks the drive compatibility.

No problem at all.

Done it with both my 7K60 drive and a 7K100 drive several times.

Just remember to use the -IB switch if using Norton Ghost
