Swap a T43p for a T60p???

#1 Post by fullauto » Thu Jan 26, 2006 9:33 pm

My lemony T43p is going back for a replacement, but Lenovo has graciously offered to replace it with a T60p if I want to wait.

Should I get a T60p or stay with a T43p?

I run very numerically intensive apps and could definitely benefit from a dual-core, but is Microsoft Windows XP ready for multiprocessors?

Can Lenovo pull off the first generation T60s without too many glitches?

Thanks.

Good deal :)

If you are running some serious number crunching, you might want to seriously consider the T60p. I wouldn't worry too much about glitches in the first place, though.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Minimum spec for new T60P:

15" Screen
1 GB RAM
60GB 7200 rpm HD
sub 2GHz processor

The upgrade may take some extra $$$.... dunno yet.

The trouble is, the rep from Lenovo is saying it may be "months" before the T60 is available.

Hmmmm...the actual specs for the first offerings may be in question at this point.

if you work form battery sometimes, I'd wait for approval that t60 is good in this regard. for example, take a look at this:

34W to watch DVD? it sucks, imho.
