RAM question

Hi guys….
I wanted to know which one of the following RAM increments would make the biggest difference in the performance of a T43…. Please keep in mind the SQL server will be installed on it. No video or photo editing will be done on it. The system came with a base module of 512.

1. An additional module of 512. Making it a GIG of total ram.

OR

2. Two modules of 1 gig each. Making it a total of 2 gigs.

Money is a bit tight these days… but if it makes a HUGE difference then I could buy more ram.
Can anyone recommend places to buy cheap RAM at???

Why not add an extra 1 GB and end at 1½ GB?


Good compromise and you only have to buy a single DIMM - if Task manager tells you that you use almost everything, you can buy an additional stick of RAM and replace your 512 (under the hood)
