Can't enable NIC on T42
Can't enable NIC on T42
Hi,
My T42 (winxp pro (sp2)), has connectivity problems. All my efforts to enable my Intel PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection fail with a "Conection Failed" message. I suspected that my tcp/ip protcol has a problem and therefore ran netsh and rebuilt it. This didn't solve my problem. The card appears without any problem indication in the device manager, it's doesn't show with a ipconfig /all run.
Do you have any suggestion how to revive it?
If not, would you suggest to open the unit and resettle it on the board?
Any other suggestion will be appreciated.

It's a long story and I believe I've exhausted all options
leegaard,
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I tried all possible options, including yours. (For the last week, most my days were spent looking for solutions). Looks like the problem is a serious one. Prior to starting my system from scratch (Format HD and install XP), I would like to make sure the culprit isn't my NIC. If it were a desktop, I would reassemble it. I wonder if there's a way to check my network card, be it by software or physical reassemble.

Have you ran diagnostics using PC Doctor for Windows, or by running PC Doctor for DOS off of a CD?
