#1 Post by det922 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 5:28 pm

the last few days ive noticed that this computer has been acting up, one day i ws carring it to the next room and the screen went white with colored stripes (see pic) and more and more it now keeps a black screen, i left it on one night and when i opened it the screen was on but black nothing was responding including lights so i had to hold down power button and sometimes when it turns on it does the same im starting to get worried and i hope its nothing major i think it might be a heat issue but i dont know it would normally do it at warmer temps, but does not feel that hot, lemme know your ideas ppl[/img]

I had the same problem on the T40, it got a new mob and it solved the problem.

I had a similar issue with a A31(can't remember), I ran the diags and the memory on the video card would fail; same thing..new MOBO

I also have the same T41 (model-type) as yours, I have problems with the PCMCIA ports and the USB ports respoding as 1.1. As of yet, no issues that relate to the T40 or yours.

If it was just the video cutting in/out; I would say LCD ribbon or the LCD ribbon came loose. But if you are having power issues as well, then I would have to say MOBO.
