Any type of battery case and/or cover? Need to store a spare

#1 Post by aphex » Mon Jan 30, 2006 6:28 pm

I just got my 9-cell from eBay and it is fantastic. Problem is, now i have 2 batteries and one of them has to be lugged around in my backpack all day.

Any options on a cover or a case for a T41 battery? Didn't want it just banging around in there w/o protection.

Likely, the 9-cell will be kept in my bag and the old 6-cell will stay in the laptop 80% of the time.

While certainly not its original design intent, IBM's CD-ROM/FDD carry case, FRU 05K4562, will handily fit your battery, providing an attractive as well as protective cover. They are cheap on eBay.

I can easily fit two T30 batteries in one with space to spare. Are T41 batteries that much larger?

The referenced cases are roughly 6"x 6". A T2X or T30 battery fits nicely in one. At 8+" long, a T4x battery would stick out.

Places like Target have weird selections of neoprene/cloth cases for things like cameras, sunglasses, etc. It might be worth a shot.

Waterfield has a bunch of gear pouches in assorted sizes.
