normal clock speed for a t42p

apologies in advance if this is an ignorant question: i took receipt of my t4p a few days ago (1.8GHz) and i'm wondering what clock speed it should run at under a relatively light load (say running word or excel and a few web browsers). mine typically has been running at a low of 593 MHz and a high of 791....is this normal?

Sure, looks fine to me. If you run something like an audio or video encoder, then it should jump all the way up to 1.8 GHz.

How/where are you seeing the clock speed? I'm asking for a T41 using WinXP.

My Control Panel doesn't have a Performance and Maintenance entry, ... it does have a System icon, but there's nothing under it to show processor speed. Any ideas.
