T40p Wireless MiniPCI upgrade and garantie

#1 Post by s0larian » Sat Jul 17, 2004 4:04 am

Hi,

I am thinking about upgrading the a/b MiniPCI card to a/b/g (or will there be an i-card with the new standard soon?). Now if you have a T40p and the a/b card you have to open for some reason two Torx TR7 screws. Do I void the garantie with opening this screws?

I am just asking because I read in some forums warnings doing this. But I don't want believe it because all other Txx don't have this Torx screws and even if I want to change just the palm rest I have to deal with this Torx screws.

Thanks,
Thomas

About voiding the warranty, that is what IBM says - To make sure, call tech support and ask. Removing the palm rest voids the warranty, cause the screws came off...I know, it sucks...

However, it's your machine and no one will stop you from getting the a/b/g card in the machine :D
