T20 broken LCD :( replacent options?

#1 Post by audiologist » Sat Jul 17, 2004 8:25 am

hello all,
my trusty T20 (2647-61U) suffered a nasty fall  that cracked the LCD (backlight ok).
Aside from some broken plastic and an bad LCD the little T20 works great so I'm interested in getting a replacement LCD.
Opening it revealed that it's an LG-Philips LP133X7
The IBM p/n is 05K9635
the FRU p/n is 05K9636

What replacement LCDs would work? I can get an exact replacement for $300 but it's not worth the cost

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Stelios

you are luck that this is a T20 laptop. mine is T42p and the price for the LCD panel is more then the laptop.

You can get a lcd panel very cheap for your laptop from ebay. yesterday i saw may be about 6 of them there. go and have a look.

Audiologist:

How does your T20 compare with your T40 in terms of:
1. heat from the bottom after, say, 1 hour of DVD movie playing
2. fan noise
3. chassis construction

Many thanks.
