No sound from bluetooth headset after pairing

Hi! I'm using T43p 2668-H3A. Bluetooth stack is 3.0.1.918. Been trying to connect my Plantronics Pulsar 590 to it without success.

I am able to do the pairing and set it as the headset. However, all I hear is frequent beep sound in the headset and it will usually disconnect by itself after a short while.

I have also tried to set the system preference for audio and voice to bluetooth audio. It seem to just mute the laptop speakers and mike, but does not send or receive from the headset.

Does anyone else have this problem, and will updating the drivers to the latest version 5 help?
