Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I have not found a compact answer for this:

I have a T42s (fingerprint, 2373-K5H), and have 7 CD's for Product Recovery.

How do I combine these 7 CD's into one bootable DVD where I can just pop in the DVD, and then install without swapping disks?

Based on numerous previous responses here, you need to keep the "boot" CD as a seperate CD image, but the other 6 CDs (the ones numbered 'n' of 6) can somehow be combined onto a single DVD.

As to what you need to do to combine the 6 images on the DVD, I haven't seen any detail on how to do that recently!

So if the 6 CDs have the same named folders with same file names, so guess I should just replace these (presuming these are same files)?

Just create yourself the set: Insert first a CD press "Access IBM" -> "create recovery disks" etc. The second disk can be a DVD which is sufficient for all data.
