Can't see anything wrong...

#1 Post by PCO » Mon Jul 19, 2004 9:32 am

Hi,

I've been looking at a deal for a T41 Express Model for some time and I was wondering if there is something i'm missing in the below mentioned configuration:

T41 (2378DMU)
PM - 1.4 MHz
512 RAM
30 GB (4200 rpm)
CDRW/DVD Combo Drive
3-year carry in service plan
Free Shipping
$1550 US

I realize the processor is slow and the HD is only 4200 rpm, but I have not been able to find a T-series thinkpad for a price like this anywhere else. Can any of you forsee any probems I can have with this cofig.?

Is this a good deal or am I missing something...

Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with that price. It's a really good price. Especially with 3 year warranty and Intel b wireless. I have about the same CPU speed and everything runs just fine. If you are not a hardcore gamer, then this TP is perfect for you. I would just update the memory to 512MB.

2378DMU

This machine is close to what I use (T41 - 2373-1HU). Same speed. I have 768Mb of ram, and it works plenty fast enough for me. The thing I think you will find is that the drive is slow and will bring down the system. My T41 came with the 30Gb drive, but I had a 60Gb -7200rpm drive from a prior system. I put that in my T41 and it performs beautifully well. Certainly a keeper. ... JDHurst
