T41P turned off, battery loses ~50% of charge in 24hours

#1 Post by driven » Mon Feb 13, 2006 8:51 pm

Hi, I purchased a recertified used t41p a few weeks ago and was wondering if its normal for the battery to lose about 50% of its charge in 24hours, even though the laptop is powered off? I hadn't noticed this until recently, as I had been using and charging frequently. In normal usage with high battery performace setting I get about 4 hours with wireless off and I have reconditioned the battery. The design capacity is 71.28Wh and Full charge capacity of 69.69WH with cycle count of 13.

No it is not normal!!!

You will loose about MAYBE 1%-2% per week. Even if you were in hybernation mode, it should not drain it that much.

Something is draining that battery! I would recommend you send it in.

Before you call them!

FULLY CHARGE THE BATTERY! Then leave it out of the machine for 24hrs, see if that drains it!

It could also be something bad in the battery.
