Major T41P problems
Major T41P problems
My T41P have worked really good since i bought it in 2004.
I have not being using it in the field and it has mostly been on my desk on 24/7.
Since 1 month back some strange problems have occured, if i press the chassi or press the keyboard in different positions or even lift the Thinkpad the graphics on the screen goes crazy and most often the screen goes blank with no power to the screen and the whole system freeze.
If i then try to boot it up again with the power button and a hard reset it most often doesn't come up anything on the screen, the screen is completely dead, nothing.
If i then start to press with my hand lightly on some places on the keyboard and the start it again i can be lucky it will light up and boot.
Anyone knows what the fault can be?
I have changed the keyboard to a new one and the problem is still there.

No i haven't called them yet as i need my thinkpad and don't have anything else to use as backup.christopher_wolf wrote:Sounds like a system board problem to me; have you called up IBM about it?
The problem is that it comes and goes, sometimes it works good and sometimes it really annoys me, it's like there is some connector loose that doesn't get contact in there somewhere.

That has the signs of a stress induced crack on the connector/system board; the first thing that I woul do is backup all your data.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
