CD-ROM drive led always on??

#1 Post by kungpow » Wed Feb 15, 2006 5:49 pm

I have a T40P and the little green led for the CD-ROM drive is always on when I turn on the laptop.

Does anyone know if this is what it is supposed to do? It seems that the fan is always running and never pauses and I have a feeling that it might be because of this CD-ROM drive.

My CD-ROM drive light is also always on. I believe that's normal - indicating the drive is in working order.

On my t42 the light near the CD rom (which I believe is called the ultra bay) is always on. When a CD is in the drive and spinning the little light near the eject button is on.

The Ultrabay light should always be on as long as whatever drive in the Bay, be it an Optical Drive or a Hard Drive, is mounted and is drawing power. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
