Fingerprint reader disappeared on logon after last update
Fingerprint reader disappeared on logon after last update
I did the last thinkvintage update , and since then I have the Windows password instead of the fingerprint logon.
I cannot find where and how to fix this
BTW
I did notice while updating few “copy errors “ but the messages where very short time on the screen and I could not read them,
Thanks Danny

Also; go into the IBM Embedded Security Console and re-activate the fingerprint logon replacement.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

thanks fixed !
went to that link and found this to help :
"
Had the same problem initially. Seems like it resets some setting back to default. I went into Control panel -> Other Control Panel Options -> IBM Embedded Security Subsystem -> Configure Application Support and Policy, and check "Enable Windows Logon Replacement" and select "Use Fingerprint Logon Only", then apply.
"
i didn't realize this is a common problem , hmmm i wonder how it didn't come on my forum search.
anyhow sorry for the redundancy .
now when i'm logging in i get the fingerprint. but after that the Microsoft logging windows shows up with my user password already typed in , then i see "loading your settings" still under Microsoft window (use to be IBM)
no big deal it all works.
thanks

It certainly isn't as nice as it was before the upgrade. I quite liked the IBM windows while logging in.danny_isr wrote:now when i'm logging in i get the fingerprint. but after that the Microsoft logging windows shows up with my user password already typed in , then i see "loading your settings" still under Microsoft window (use to be IBM)
