Problems with new Bluetooth integrated with enh. data rate

#1 Post by davidspalding » Sat Feb 18, 2006 2:53 pm

Following the suggestion of Software Installer this week, I installed the latest "Bluetooth with enhanced data rate software 4.0.1.3000" (77BA10WW). Apparently this "... with enh. data rate" was released in January (?) for the Z60 line, and this latest version incorporates support for T43/p, T60/p, X41 X60, and a few other models. Since updating, my radio would turn off immediately after turning on. That is, Bluetooth was unusable. :(

Interesting problem; I made the update and had to do a bit of fiddling, but I un-installed anything else that could cause problems before then I went ahead with the Bluetooth update. I even got the Audio Gateway to work and have answered calls on my T43 which was really cool. I noticed a bit of an increase in transfer rates as well.

Have you tried a manual un-install and re-install?Try to not reboot afer un-installing the previous version as Windows will attempt to install its own drivers whilst the new Bluetooth is installing via Software Installer after the reboot. Just un-install the previous version and install the new one, manually if you have to from the package, and then reboot.

HTH :)

Actually, Chris, I think I did just that. Performed the uninstall of BT IV Integrated via APPWIZ.CPL, then let software installer install the new version, along with 4.11 of Access Connections, and rebooted.

Think I'll let them "bake" on this new version for a while before serve up a slice.

Based on others' experiences, I re-tried ... and was able to install the new version. Go figure.
