14" t42 SXGA Display and Graphics issues

I'm trying to install the display drivers for the LCD screen specifically. I have the IBM Catalyst drivers, and everytime I go into display properties I see that my screen is labeled as "General Monitor" only.

I am having a problem using any catalyst drivers other than the IBM ones. Omega and ATI drivers are causing the screen to flicker, like part of it is shaking every few seconds. But using the regular drivers eliminates all of the problems.

I would like to have the benefit of the latest drivers when playing CS:Source, so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds more like a display card driver issue, not LCD driver. I don't think you need special drivers for T42 LCD. Not sure if they even exist. Mine just uses Microsoft drivers.
