I have a T42p. I had to restore the factory installation. (Why? Long sad story.) Now I don't see "My Bluetooth Places" on the desktop and don't see the "B" tray icon for Bluetooth. Any idea what's wrong? How to fix it?
Before I reverted to the factory installation of Windows XP, my Logitech MX900 mouse worked fine, without the hub being connected to the USB port. Now I can't get it to work. I've tried the steps listed in another thread for installing the IBM Integrated Bluetooth software (mine is III instead of II), but the mouse still doesn't work. The ThinkPad apparently can't see/hear the mouse. Any ideas here? (I know this problem was addressed in some thread in one of the forums on this web site, because I relied on that the first time I installed the Logitech mouse. Now I can't find that posting, so I have to ask for help here. Sorry.)
Thanks in advance. I'm going nuts trying to get the system back up to where it was before a spyware infestation brought me to this sorry place. Help would be much appreciated.

Go through and do a manual un-install of any and all bluetooth drivers/software on your system; then, without rebooting, go to the software installer and get the latest bluetooth driver/software update it has listed; then reboot. Does the mouse come with any driver software for itself? If so, I would install that later or not at all if it works fine without it. I would also make sure that you have all the other updates that you need out of the way first before doing this; so you will end up going through one update cycle at the end just for the Bluetooth Drivers and Software.
