Keyboard mouse button not working

#1 Post by plasdom » Tue Feb 21, 2006 2:24 am

I reinstalled the OS on my t42 2378 FVU and all of a sudden the mouse buttons do not work. I can move the cursor but clicking has no effect. Can I have it replaced under warranty? Who do I contact and what is the contact info? USB mouse works just fine. IBM's cyptic website makes it impossible to obtain a replacement keyboard also. I want to try to have it fixed under warranty first

Try calling them up and asking about that; if you are under warranty, then they should fix it as per the terms of the warranty.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Anyone know the numbers I should call? IBM must have the worst site to find information in the world. Also can someone tell me what the FRU # is for the keyboard for 2378FVU?

I think informations you required are easy to find - just a few clicks away.

Anyway:
Worldwide Support Center phone list

On the same page you'll find a link named - Parts information

Or look here:
Keyboard service parts - ThinkPad T40/p, T41/p, T42/p

Hope it helps.

just call them, tell them you have a fubared keyboard and theyll overnight you a new one. no biggie.

you give them the machine type and serial so you dont need to know the KB FRU.
