I lost all my connections icons
Today I suddenly lost all my connections icons. The ones in connect to menu and those in system tray. Now I can't figure out how to get them back. The just disappeared. All of them; LAN, WLAN and Bluetooth Access Server icons.
The last software I remember installing was Nokia PC Suite and new Lenovo wireless driver.
Even if I choose to make new connection to internet the icon doesn't appear anywhere. All connections work though, but I find this really strange.
Anyone has a suggestion?

Open up the properties of all of them in the Network Connections control panel and enable "show icon on taskbar" option.

I see (3) options at this point.
You can run System File Checker. Go to Start > Run, and type "SFC /scannow" without quotes in the box and hit the Enter key.
You can download TweakUI from Microsoft. It has an option to rebuild the desktop icons. Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP TweakUI.exe is one of the PowerToys that you can download from the link in the middle right of the above page.
Use System Restore to go to a time when Windows was working properly.

I couldn't get them back even with system restore although I tried to restore it from 5 different restore points. Then I found a backup on one of my DVDs hidden in the mess on my table and decided to restore from it. Now it works. Thanks for the tips. I see I am not alone in this.
