Hibernate/Standby not working with new Access Connections

#1 Post by chlee » Tue Feb 21, 2006 6:35 pm

THinkpad T40p
I have upgraded the bios and other drivers. However, when I upgrade to the Access Connections 4.11- the computer is REALLY SLOW to boot and the Hibernate and Standby functions cease to work. It gets stuck at the "preparing to hibernate/standby" screen and just hangs.

Uninstalling the Access Connections makes it hibernate and standby work again, and the boot time is much shorter.

Any history with this problem?

T40p
Bios 3.19
Windows XP SP2

Anyone else having odd problems with the new Access Connections?

YES! Doing the same [censored] thing on my fresh install of winxp on my z60m. Might remove for a while, and use the windows stuff to use hibernation again.

You select it, and when you apply it unchecks it. Under the windows setting you can't change the setting because it is controlled by another program :(

what do you mean by this? Is this the Windows Zero Configuration thing?

I haven't tried it. Actually, without Access Connections, I get wireless to work no prob.

I have a T42 and use Access Connections 4.11. I use Standby all the time without a problem. I have not tried Hibernation. You probably had a bad install of Access Connections 4.11. Software Installer doesn't seem to always upgrade Access Connections successfully. I always uninstall any previous version, then reboot, before letting Software Installer install a newer version.

Mini a/b wireless

It seems that I just have a problem with Access 4.11a

the wireless drivers aren't the cause.

When I install Access Connections with WZC off, it can't go into hibernate/standby. And boot up is really slow.

Does anyone else experience this?
T40p, mini a/b wireless

now I'm just using the WZC without Access Connections
