Sensitive power cord/supply HELP

I am having some problems with my t40's power cord or supply. When it gets plugged in it is very very sensitive and I have to mess around with it and hold it tight in different positions in order to get it to charge. I am not sure if this is a problem with the actual power cord or the power supply or maybe even the battery. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

With mine, I had to separate the prongs on the plug slightly. That resulted in a firm connecton with looser wall sockets. At first, I thought that my charger was defective.
