Cleaning Dust

#1 Post by Aeroman » Thu Feb 23, 2006 3:10 pm

Hey all,

Quick Question: Is it safe to blast the dust out from the inside with one of those compressed air cans? (After just removing the keyboard) I've had the T40 for about 2.5 years and there is quite a bit of dust inside by now.

Thanks

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums :)

It is quite safe to use a can of compressed air to do that, it is what they are meant for and you can clean up your keyboard even better by partially removing it and then blowing it with those cans. Just don't use a powerful vacuum cleaner like a Sears Shop-Vac. ;) :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

I'd recommend it.

I clean my computers with that every so often.... I'm convinced it keeps things cooler and increases the lifespan.

I'd recommend a Swiffer Duster. It works very well and you save on having to buy new cans of air.
