CPU speed: Adaptive
System hibernates: 15 minutes

related question: what are the best settings under "Battery Health" for infrequent battery use. It says "If you infrequently use battery power, you can increase the battery lifespan by changing the charge thresholds". But it gives no guidance. Any info anywhere?

On your taskbar, right click on the battery/power icon and click on Improve Battery Health. You will see the settings then.
This is only available on the T42, R51, and X40 (from what I've read):
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=965
X21 (upgrade: 384MB ram 60GB 7200rpm)
T42 2378-DXU (upgrade: 1.5GB ram 60GB 7200rpm)
Z60m 2531-MTU (upgrade: 2GB ram)

Hi,

Battery

System standby: 3 mins
Turn off monitor: 3 mins
LCD Brightness: Level 3
Turn off hard disks: 3 mins
CPU speed: Adaptive
System hibernates: 30 mins

AC

System standby: 10 mins
Turn off monitor: 10 mins
LCD Brightness: Level 7
Turn off hard disks: 5 mins
CPU speed: Adaptive
System hibernates: 1 hour

I prefer have Adaptive CPU speed even under AC to avoid heat.
