AccessConnections after Upgrade 3 -> 4 locked

#1 Post by systembetreuer » Sat Feb 25, 2006 9:20 am

Hi there!

After upgrading AccessConnections, the add-profiles option is disabled, and a infobox says, the administrator has disabled the feature ...

I am the administrator and i have nothing disabled.

The problem occurs with all administrative accounts - local and domain-admins.

The enablertool (which worked in v 3.x fine) dose not help ...

What should i do?

Thanks
Peter

You should not have the above problem. Probably the best solution would be to uninstall Access Connections, then run a registry cleaner to remove leftovers. Reboot, then reinstall Access Connections.

You can try the following first if you like. Open Access Connections and on the top menu bar click on Configure > Global Settings... > make sure box is checked to: Allow Windows users without administrator privileges to create and apply location profiles.

It's greyed out (with each administrator-account!). Do you know the corresponding registry-key?

Which Administrator is the right admin fpr AC? Each user with administrative rights?

Thanks Peter

I don't have your answers. But when you uninstall Access Connections, it gives you the option of saving your profiles. It worked for me.

You can also save your profiles before you even start the uninstall using Add or Remove Programs. Start Access Connections, click on Manage in the top menu bar and choose Import/Export to export your profiles to your hard disk or other location.

They are saved on my hard disk here as a *.loc file. C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\ConnectUtilities
