New T43 -- but how do I turn on the Wireless connection?
I just received my new T43 w Wireless Internet. how do I enable the wireless connetion?
I curretly plugged in my Linksys (Wireless-G w SRX) and can connect to the Linksys Wireless Router using that. But my Network Connections screen doesn't show anything for the IBM wireless.
If I hit the Fn-F5 key, the NC screen shows Bluetooth appearing or disappearing.
Thanks for your help.

Fn-F5 should show the on/off button for the 802.11 wireless radio. Have you checked the device manager (network adapters) to see if it detects the wireless card? Are you sure you have a model that has a wireless card and not wireless upgradeable? Which model do you have?
If you do have a wireless card, you may need to check that it is seated properly under the keyboard. Download the hardware maintenance manual to show you how to remove the keyboard.

I have a T43-2668-4EU. This model should have the wireless card.
Under Network Controller, I only see:
- Wireless-G Notebook Adapter for Linksys, which I'm currently using to connect to the net.
- Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet card, which I found with a H/W search, so I installed it.
Device Manager shows the same two cards.
(BTW: the h/w scan also shows a 'Network Controller', but I haven't installed it b/c I don't have a disk.)
I removed the keyboard (to try to reseat the wireless-card), but I don't know what I'm looking for. Any help here?
Thanks.

T43 hardware maintenance manual
Go to page 99. It has a picture of what you are looking for. There should be two antenna leads attached to the wireless adapter.
Before removing keyboard and palmrest, check in bios setup (F1 at boot) -> Network -> Internal Wireless enabled - (it should by default).
T440s OK so far.
T420s NVIDIA graphics. Nice, then MB failure.
T400s Workhorse. two of'em, both faulty display with vertical stripes.
T43 °very nice° - MB reflown and dead, two of'em.
T42 15°, dead onboard wireless.
T40, dead memory slot, stolen from me
T30, stolen from me
TP600 dead
