#1 Post by koolzero » Mon Mar 06, 2006 1:54 pm

Hi, I just got a T43P back from being repaired and on the sheet under part description it says Planar Card. Is this the motherboard?

Thanks.

Just for historical purposes, what was the problem?
T440s OK so far.
T420s NVIDIA graphics. Nice, then MB failure.
T400s Workhorse. two of'em, both faulty display with vertical stripes.
T43 °very nice° - MB reflown and dead, two of'em.
T42 15°, dead onboard wireless.
T40, dead memory slot, stolen from me
T30, stolen from me
TP600 dead

I had a machine that was acting a little goofy. I ran PC Doctor quick test and it ran through alright, then I ran the long test and it never finished. It got to the screen that displayed the following:

Memory Test - Full Test Category (12/13)
B1 Complex Pattern Test
[01006400H]-[3FEDFFFFH]
Current Test: 47%
Overall Tsts: 98%

Pass 1 of 1 - Test 62 of 62

I left it running over night for about 10 hours, and this is where was at. A user sent this in saying that it has blue screened 10 times in the past few days. It also wouldn't turn on. When I recieved it it wouldn't turn like she said, I pulled out the battery and held the power button down for a minute and it would power on but the screen wouldn't come on, so I swapped out her hard drive and put it into another T43p shell.

After I pulld out the hard drive it would turn on and the screen came on, so I put my hard drive in and it wouldn't turn on again so I repeated this once more and this time it worked...

I left it for the rest of the weekend and tried turning it on on Monday and I just received a series of random beeps sounded like 3 1 4 beeps... IBM replaced the motherboard.
