Resolution switching in MiniDock?
Resolution switching in MiniDock?
I've tried searching this forum, but the search feature doesn't seem to distinguish any words from any other word, so I'm hoping someone with experience can just give me a quick answer.
I have a T43p and MiniDock. The MiniDock is hooked up to an LCD. When I first set it all up, I somehow got the laptop to switch from 1400x1050 out of the dock to 1280x1024 on the LCD as soon as I dropped it in and closed the lid.
For the life of me, I don't remember how I managed to do this. I remember playing around with the multiple monitors settings in Display/Settings unsuccessfully for a while until it just started working.
The other day, it stopped just as suddenly when I removed the machine from the dock without putting it to sleep first. Now I'm back to having to manually play with the resolution settings (and Fn-F7).
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

The Presentation Director utility on your Thinkpad will manage this for you. From the Presentation Director help file.....
Choose a scheme that will be automatically applied when you dock your ThinkPad computer
To automatically apply a scheme upon docking your ThinkPad computer, select the Immediately apply this presentation scheme option in the When ThinkPad is Docked section of the window and then choose a scheme from the dropdown list.
Cheers,
Bill

Windows may auto-recognize the display, and the last resolution you used when you connected to it. I use a mini-dock and Acer AL1715 at work and I don't need to use Pres Mgr's "use this scheme whenever I dock."
Also ... the Mini-Dock doesn't get recognized by the T41 as well as a Dock II does (which I use at home). Might be the 41, or the Mini-Dock.
Go on safari around Pres Mgr and see all the options, you may find that you can automate going to a dual-screen scheme when you dock. I find it most helpful, since my LCD is only 1280x1024.
