Since no FDD, the method which use a FDD image is not useful.
However, when I update the bios under WinXP,
Everything seems ok ,and the system restart correctly .
While the pc enters Winxp again instead of Bios updating program.
I wonder if it is caused by the NTFS patitioned hard disk and how to solve it.
Thanks
How to update bios on a NTFS partitioned T42 (no FDD) ?
Win XP is NTFS, so that is not the problem. I suspect it might be because your ThinkPad type number and model number are not stored in the BIOS. Boot into the bios and see whether the type and model number fields are blank. Another reason could be that you are using an incompatible BIOS update for your machine type.
DKB
how does the DOS read the bios file on NTFS partioned disk?
I do not know how .
I will check my modle type later
