Changing Primary Display on a T43

I am using the extended monitor feature on my Thinkpad T43 and I would like to switch my primary display to be on the external monitor and extend it onto my laptop screen. I have searched for a way to do this but have been unsuccessful.

If you have a T43 (not a T43p) the Intel graphics control panel utility gives you the ability to set internal or external screen as primary. Have a look through the settings in the Intel utility.

Rather easy to actually do, but hard to explain how to do it in writing.

Tried to use the setting- " use as primary display"?
