t41 2373 HPA problem ,can't delete

can anybody help and tell me where i did wrong for not successly deleting the hpa ?

fist ,i set the predesk area to disable, then i use the fdisk.exe to delete all the partiations in the dos 7.0, also the unallocated partiation which the hpa pre existed ,exited and rebooted the t41 ,still to dos. finally ,i set the whole disk to just only one partiation with fdisk.exe ,after that i reboot the thinkpad again and then still detete the partion in order to delete all the patioation imformation on the disk thoroughly ,so afer the process above i think the harddisk return to the factory status,


then i set the predesktop area to normal back,restart, press access ibm, GOD ,predesk area interface still appears , there is still reformat the harddisk and install the preinstalled software select instead of rebuilding the hpa select ,
anybody who can tell me where i did wrony ?

my bios version is 3.19 which is the latest , is it possible that the problem was caused by the bios ,
