T40 Recovery Disks

#1 Post by JChrzanowski » Fri Jul 23, 2004 12:44 pm

Well, I was in need of recovery disks and I called up IBM Tech support. I told them I just bought a laptop and the previous owner wiped out the recovery partition and they said they would mail out disks in 2 days, no questions asked... I dunno why people say its hard to get IBM to give them to you for free because it was realy easy for me. For all of you that don't have them...get them now and use the same story I did. Thanks

I don't know why people say you need to make anything up at all.
Last year when I purchased my T40 I simply called them up and said I wantd a set and they sent them to me airborne express overnight.

I didn't have any problem getting recovery discs for my computers but they did ask for the serial number and date of purchase (?)
