There is a line of entry-level T42s with 14.1" XGA screens with Banias processors available. Use the tabook for accurate product line information: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitu ... tabook.pdf

look for 2mb cache, that's the telltale sign of the dothan. or ghz of 1.8 or 2.0 (1.7 dothans and 1.7 banias exsist)

oh i ran into that problem with educational ones too. i think those systems are configured by the university's tech people, explaining why you can't find that model in the tabook or the mainstream ibm site.

p-m 735 is the official name for the 1.7ghz dothan (banias are usually referred to as p-m 1.7,1.5 etc...), if that helps.

edit: all of the t42 2373s in the tabook have dothans (2373-h13 isn't listed)

Yes my school has the same models but different specs. Some of them I could find but my school offered a better graphics card. Or b/g while the regular only offers B.

i'd trust what it says later down on the page

the intro with the firegl refers to the p-m 1.7 as a 745, p-m 1.7 is definately a 735, and a p-m 1.8 is the 745. so there's some credibility issues with the intro.

edit: whoa, it's wrong in both places. intel and dell say a 1.7 is a 735

Intel naming chart
