No internet after STBY

#1 Post by danny_isr » Sun Mar 19, 2006 3:18 pm

A week ago , I tried to work on the slow boot issue . and removed few things from the startup and canceled few services .
Since then when I open the lid most of the times I don’t have internet anymore. I have to re-boot the machine.
I know that it’s only the machine fault , because my PDA is online at the same time.
Which service is responsible for this ?

I forgot the command that I can type to get new IP – that might help too

thanks

This is why I use system restore, just in case something gets goofed up you can go back in time, try that.

from command prompt

ipconfig/release enter

ipconfig/renew enter

do an ipconfig /all to see what your currrent settings are and post back that may be helpful.

ipconfig then do a release/renew on all the adapters

Hmmm...I can't recall, off the top of my head, what service would be responsible for restoring the internet connection after a resume from a suspend state.

You might try re-enabling the WZC process but I doubt that will help as I have it disabled and haven't had any problems.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

You probably disabled services or apps which Access Connections needs to start you connecting. ACSVC.EXE, ACTRAY.EXE ... see those? There may be other problems, but you should do your darnedest to return to the state before you removed startup items and services. ;)

[edit]REASON WHY: We don't know what you disabled or removed from startup. Could be LOTS of things. It's hard to tell on this end.
