Memory Tester

#1 Post by diaz1023 » Sun Mar 19, 2006 9:28 pm

Does anyone know of a good memory tester, free hopefully?

I have been getting some memory failures when i run check it diagnostics. I get a memory allocation failed message. I have tried the troubleshooting tips given to me by the program, such as increasing virtual memory, but it still doesn't work.

Should I worry.

Memory Test

Check out this website:

http://www.memtest86.com/

Burn the files to a CD or DVD and put the cd in your computer when you boot up. It does not need to be run from your OS.

Hope this helps.

Actually, I would recommend http://www.memtest.org

The .com site is an OLD version that hasn't been updated since 2004. The guys at the .org site bought the rights to the program and have been making periodic updates to it.

Another vote for memtest... solid product. I wouldn't put RAM in an x86 system without using that.
